Lightweighting Technology
Lightweighting Technology
Toyo Glass has a variety of high technologies to produce lightweight glass containers
Since glass containers are made with natural materials, they have excellent protection performance for contents such as beer, milk, etc., as well as a high-class image and a sensation of coolness.
Recently, in order to reduce CO2 emissions and contribute to preserving the environment, lightweighting of glass containers has been becoming one of the most important keywords in the industry. Toyo Glass’s share of ultra lightweight bottles in Japan is about 60 percent and we are supplying a lot of lightweight glass containers to the market.
For achieving lightweighting, a wide variety of technologies and know-how are required such as glass melting technology to make quality glass; design technology backed by computer analysis; forming technology to make consistent quality bottles; and inspection technology to ensure accurate rejection of defective bottles.
